WE HELP POST RETIREMENT

ADREWS cares for the employees of the engineering fraternity, superannuated from Prasar Bharati

The world around us has evolved, life expectancy has increased, and human health quotient has progressed to an infinite extent. Yet a Government employee retires from services after attaining the age of 60 years. The socio-economic framework has enhanced so much that the younger generation migrates to advanced geographies for making a career cut above the rest. In this breakneck algorithm of the world, each one of us owns up to our own quotient of happiness. All working professionals feel a sense of void after superannuation.

To recommence the sense of togetherness and belonging, a few veteran retired staff of Prasar Bharati, India’s public service broadcaster, came together to continue the bond of brotherhood. The long eventful service tenures of the engineering fraternity helped create durable relationships. With a mission to continue the bond, in January 2009, this fraternity got together to not only resolve problems related to pensions but also to ensure that everyone develops a sense of satisfaction and remains physically and socially active.

An association was formed with the principal objective of resolving pension-related grievances, medical and social needs of the members and also to inculcate camaraderie and extending support during exigencies to their families.

In 2012, we registered the organization as Akashvani & Doordarshan Retired Engineers Welfare Society, ADREWS, with the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, West Bengal, under the societies Act.

The society is governed by the extant rules of Co-operative societies and is managed by an Executive body elected by the general body members.

The society is committed to care for issues concerning civil society too. ADREWS members have generously contributed during the Covid 19 pandemic, to voluntary organizations like Ramakrishna Mission, Bharat Sevashram Sangha, and Gurudwara.

The society has spread its wings and now has a pan-India presence. The society is focused on its objectives and is relentlessly striving to be active in all kinds of welfare activities for the members and their families.
